Relax at Freshwater Cove

Freshwater Cove is the ideal setting for you to make your escape. Set amid the gorgeous natural splendour of the Kimberley wilderness coast, we are a safari style coastal camp and offer comfortable, modern facilities.

Stay your way

Sleep in a Kimberley swag or if you prefer, a camp trundle in a breezy netted dome with a 360° view of the endless starry night sky. If you like four walls, experience the comfort and privacy of a sturdy safari tent. The memories of your adventure here will stay with you forever. Here’s some of the facilities you’ll enjoy.

Facilities, food and guides

A bough hut houses a well appointed kitchen, dining room and storage facilities. Your bedding, towels and torches are all provided. Fresh water is in abundance and is piped to service the hut and the showers. We run on solar power with a back-up deisel generator, delivering 240 volt power services to the hut. We have a range of freezer/fridge facilities and water coolers. Power points are available to run any electrical device.

We pride ourselves on delivering top service and leadership from local Kimberley guides of long standing. Camp Proprietor, Peter Tucker, is a fine chef, ensuring that you’ll dine sumptuously, and upon much of which you’ll catch or collect yourself.

tours6Safety and communication

The good news is that you’ll be out of mobile phone range. Being so remote, reliable communication with the outside world is important. We take the safety and well being of our visitors seriously. Freshwater Cove has HF and VHF base radios. Every boat has a VHF radio and a 24 hour satellite phone system is installed at the base.

A comprehensive medical kit is available and all guides are qualified first aiders. To further ensure your comfort, safety and well being, we also suggest that if you have any special medical conditions you inform us of these at the time of booking your stay.

Inclusions

Just in case a remote wilderness adventure at one of the most beautiful locations in Australia isn’t enough to entice you to the Cove. We’ve included a few extras:
