It’s Humpback Calving time!
The migrating Humback Whales have been gathering in the region for some weeks now and calving is well under way. It all makes for plenty of entertainment in between hauling in huge fish!

Unseasonally warm weather improves Barra catch
We’re currently enjoying very warm weather for this time of year here in the West Kimberley. Apart from conveying a sense of delightful tropical conditions, it’s having a good effect on the Barramundi catches around the Cove. Yesterday, we recorded a monster Barra catch of 1.13 metres (1.25 yards).

Humpbacks arrive at the Cove
The vanguard of the massive annual migration of Humpback Whales has arrived offshore from Freshwater Cove. The early arrivals are the immature males and non-breeding females. They will soon be followed by large numbers of females which will be calving and mature males searching for mates. It’s all part of the magic an allure of nature which waits for you at Freshwater Cove.
