Arriving at Freshwater Cove

Freshwater Cove is accessible only by sea plane, helicopter and boat. Your trip to Fresh Water Cove starts on your arrival in the coastal town of Broome, Western Australia. Broome is serviced by all the major  airline carriers, from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. From Perth you can fly Sky West, Qantas or Virgin.

Broome to Derby

On the day of your departure to Freshwater Cove you are driven to the town of Derby, 260km (162 miles) north-east of Broome. The drive takes around 2.5 hrs. Alternatively, you can fly (45min), flying is offered as an option at an additional expense on top of your package.

Derby to Freshwater Cove

Once in Derby you board a Cessna caravan float plane and take a breathtaking 70 minute flight to Freshwater Cove. Your host,  Peter Tucker, will be waiting to greet you on your arrival. Under most circumstances you’ll arrive at the Cove by 9:30am. Your true Wilderness Fishing adventure begins.

Departing Freshwater Cove

On your return to Broome you leave the Cove at around 10:30am and will arrive in Broome by 1:30pm. We advise that you book the late pm flights out of Broome to your destination on the day of your arrival back in Broome.
